Tehran – Iran Warns Neighbouring Countries as Tensions Rise Over Internal Unrest
Iran has issued a stern warning that it would launch attacks on United States military bases across the Middle East if former U.S. President Donald Trump or Washington interferes in the country’s ongoing internal protests and political unrest.
Senior Iranian officials disclosed that Tehran has already communicated its position to several neighbouring countries hosting American military facilities, cautioning them against allowing their territories to be used for any military action against Iran.
The warning comes amid widespread protests across several Iranian cities, triggered by worsening economic conditions, political dissatisfaction, and allegations of state repression. The demonstrations have reportedly been met with force, leading to casualties and heightened international concern.
Iranian authorities accused Trump of encouraging instability after the former U.S. leader publicly criticised the Iranian government and suggested strong action if violence against protesters continued. Tehran described such comments as foreign interference aimed at destabilising the country.
Iran’s parliament leadership also reiterated that any U.S. military action—direct or indirect—would make American bases, ships, and personnel in the region legitimate targets. The statement marks one of the strongest threats issued by Iran in recent months.
Meanwhile, regional tensions have intensified, with reports of U.S. forces reviewing security measures at key Middle East bases. Several Gulf states are said to be urging restraint, fearing that a direct confrontation between Iran and the U.S. could destabilise the region.
International observers warn that escalating rhetoric from both sides could trigger wider conflict if not managed through diplomatic channels.
