Justice Darius Khobo shifts hearing as former Kaduna state governor’s legal battle over alleged financial misconduct continues
The Kaduna State High Court has adjourned the bail hearing of former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, to the first week of June 2026.
The adjournment was ordered by Justice Darius Khobo during the latest sitting in the ongoing corruption case filed by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) against the former governor.
El-Rufai, who served as Kaduna governor from 2015 to 2023, is facing multiple charges bordering on alleged financial misconduct and abuse of office during his tenure.
The court was unable to proceed with the bail application as scheduled, leading to the decision to shift the matter to a later date in June for further hearing.
The case remains one of the high-profile corruption trials currently before the Kaduna State judiciary, attracting significant public attention.
El-Rufai has continued to maintain his innocence through his legal team, while the court is expected to resume proceedings on the bail application in June 2026.
