Hon. Nuhu Daniel Kwali says the initiative will expand digital skills, innovation and technology-driven economic opportunities for residents across the ten wards of Kwali Area Council.
The Executive Chairman of Kwali Area Council, Hon. Nuhu Daniel Kwali, has engaged the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) on a proposed partnership to establish an ICT and Digital Innovation Hub in the Area Council.
The Chairman made the move during an official visit to the NITDA headquarters in Abuja on Thursday, September 11, where he and his delegation were received on behalf of the Director-General by the Director of Human Resource Management, Mr. Sarafa A. Lawal, alongside other senior officials of the agency.
During the engagement, Hon. Nuhu Daniel Kwali sought NITDA’s partnership and technical support in key areas including information and communication technology, digital literacy, innovation and skills development.
The proposed ICT and Digital Innovation Hub is aimed at creating greater access to technology and digital learning opportunities for residents of Kwali Area Council, with particular emphasis on young people.
The Chairman said the initiative reflects his administration’s commitment to investing in human capital and equipping residents with relevant skills to participate effectively in the digital economy.
According to him, the proposed hub will provide opportunities for residents to acquire digital skills, develop innovative ideas and explore technology-driven avenues for entrepreneurship and economic empowerment.
He further emphasised the importance of extending the benefits of digital innovation across all ten wards of Kwali Area Council, ensuring that young people and other residents have access to opportunities that can improve their livelihoods and contribute meaningfully to the development of their communities.
The proposed partnership with NITDA is expected to strengthen Kwali Area Council’s efforts towards digital inclusion, youth empowerment and technology-driven development.
