The NDC vice-presidential candidate says the concerns raised by Catholic bishops reflect the realities facing millions of Nigerians, calling for urgent action on economic hardship and security.
Former Kano State Governor and National Democratic Coalition (NDC) vice-presidential candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has commended the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) for speaking out on the country’s economic and security challenges, describing their intervention as timely and reflective of the concerns of ordinary Nigerians.
Kwankwaso said the bishops demonstrated courage by drawing attention to the worsening cost of living, persistent insecurity, and the hardship affecting citizens across the country.
According to him, the issues raised by the bishops mirror the daily realities faced by millions of Nigerians, including soaring food prices, inflation, unemployment, and growing insecurity in several parts of the country.
He urged the Federal Government to take the concerns expressed by the Catholic bishops seriously and implement practical measures to address the nation’s economic difficulties and security challenges. He stressed that responsive governance and people-centred policies are critical to restoring public confidence and improving the welfare of citizens.
Kwankwaso also called for continued collaboration between government, religious leaders, and civil society organisations to promote peace, national unity, and sustainable development.
His remarks come amid increasing public concern over the rising cost of living and renewed calls for decisive action to tackle inflation, improve security, and ease the economic burden on Nigerians.
