From Chief Community Reporter to Voice of the Council: Hon. (Amb.) Vincent Godfrey-Shekwoshawe Stepped Up as AMAC Digital Media Chief
ABUJA, NIGERIA — The Executive Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, has approved the appointment of Hon. (Amb.) Vincent Godfrey-Shekwoshawe as his Special Assistant (SA) on Social Media and Digital Engagement.

Hon. Godfrey-Shekwoshawe, a well-known media professional and grassroots mobilizer, currently serves as the Director-General/Coordinator of the Maikalangu Grassroot Network. He also doubles as the Chief Community Reporter for Abuja 24, positions where he has consistently championed community development and civic engagement across the Federal Capital Territory.


The strategic appointment is aimed at strengthening the administration’s digital footprint, enhancing transparency, and building a more robust interactive relationship with the residents of AMAC. Given Hon. Godfrey-Shekwoshawe’s extensive track record in grassroots communication and digital media, the appointment is expected to significantly boost public engagement regarding the council’s ongoing activities and development projects.
In his new role, Hon. (Amb.) Vincent Godfrey-Shekwoshawe will oversee social media strategy, public digital communications, and community media relations to align public perception with the administration’s vision for the council.
The appointment takes effect immediately.
