Ombugadu Dumps PDP, Signaling Fresh Realignments in Nasarawa Politics Ahead of 2027 Elections

The 2023 governorship candidate of the (PDP) in Nasarawa State, Dr. David Emmanuel Ombugadu, has reportedly dumped the party.

Although details surrounding his defection are still emerging, sources within the Nasarawa political circle indicate that the move may significantly reshape the opposition landscape in the state ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Ombugadu, who gave the ruling party a tough contest during the 2023 governorship election, remains one of the most influential opposition figures in Nasarawa politics. His exit from the PDP is expected to trigger fresh alignments and possible realignments among party loyalists and grassroots supporters across the state.

As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official statement from Ombugadu clarifying his next political destination or the reasons behind his decision. Party stakeholders are also yet to issue a formal reaction.

More details shortly.
