Osun Governor Ademola Adeleke Dumps PDP, his new party will Surprise you

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has officially left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and announced his defection to the Accord Party, according to a report by Sahara Reporters.

Adeleke’s resignation from the PDP was conveyed in a letter dated November 4, 2025, which he addressed to the party leadership in Ede North Local Government Area. In the letter, the governor cited the “ongoing crisis within the national leadership of the PDP” as his primary reason for exiting the party under which he rose to prominence.

The governor expressed appreciation to the PDP for the platform that enabled his political growth, including his service as senator representing Osun West and his election as governor of Osun State.

His move to Accord Party comes after weeks of speculation about his political future, following internal divisions within the PDP at the national level. Adeleke’s defection is expected to reshape the political landscape ahead of the 2026 Osun governorship election, with analysts predicting significant realignments across major political blocs in the state.

The Accord Party in Osun has recently undergone structural adjustments, a development that many believe was in preparation for receiving a high-profile political figure like Adeleke.

More details are expected as political reactions continue to trail the governor’s surprise move.
