Stop Lawsuits, Hold Fresh National Convention – Saraki Advises PDP

Former Senate President Bukola Saraki urges party leaders to accept court rulings and rebuild unity ahead of future elections

Former Senate President Bukola Saraki, has advised the (PDP) to halt all ongoing lawsuits within the party and focus on organizing a fresh national convention to reposition the opposition party.

Saraki made the call while reacting to recent legal disputes and court rulings affecting the internal leadership structure of the PDP. According to him, prolonged litigation among party members could further divide the party and weaken its ability to function as a strong opposition.

The former Senate President urged party leaders and stakeholders to accept the court rulings in good faith and move forward by convening a new national convention that will produce leaders acceptable to all factions within the party.

He noted that organizing a credible and inclusive convention would help restore unity, rebuild trust among members, and strengthen the party’s internal democracy.

Saraki also warned that continued court battles and internal crises could harm the PDP’s chances of consolidating its position ahead of future elections in Nigeria.

The PDP has recently faced a series of leadership disputes and legal challenges, prompting calls from several party elders for reconciliation and internal reforms.

Political analysts believe that convening a fresh national convention could help stabilize the party and create a unified platform as it prepares for future electoral contests.
