Ankara expresses condolences to victims, reaffirms commitment to Nigeria’s fight against terrorism
The Turkish government has condemned the recent terrorist attack on communities in Kwara State, describing it as a heinous act of violence against innocent civilians.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye, Ankara expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives recorded during the attack, which affected several communities in Kaiama Local Government Area of the state. The assault reportedly claimed the lives of many residents and forced others to flee their homes.
Turkey extended its condolences to the families of the victims, as well as to the government and people of Nigeria, while wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
The Turkish government also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Nigeria in the fight against terrorism, stressing the importance of international cooperation in addressing security challenges posed by violent extremist groups.
The attack has drawn widespread condemnation both within and outside Nigeria, prompting renewed calls for stronger security measures to protect vulnerable communities. Nigerian authorities have since intensified security operations in the affected areas to restore peace and prevent further attacks.
