Senator Philip Aduda cites Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and Wike’s developmental strides as key drivers of defection, as Kuje and Bwari chairmen join APC
Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda has reaffirmed his commitment to national development following his official reception into the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja.
Speaking to journalists at his office in Wuse II, Abuja, shortly after the reception by APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, Aduda expressed gratitude for the warm welcome, emphasizing that their movement into the party is driven by a clear intention to add value and contribute meaningfully to governance.
He stated that the decision to align with the APC is rooted in strong confidence in the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. According to him, the ongoing infrastructural and developmental efforts in the Federal Capital Territory under the leadership of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, are visible, impactful, and focused on improving the lives of residents.
Aduda also highlighted the significance of the inclusion of an FCT indigene in the Federal Executive Council, noting that it fulfills a long-standing demand he had consistently advocated. He said this development further strengthens their resolve to support the Tinubu administration and ensure continuity of its policies and programs.
On the political implications of the move, the senator described the realignment as a major boost for the North Central region and a positive development for the APC. He stressed the importance of unity and collaboration among political stakeholders in the FCT, noting that alignment remains key to achieving meaningful progress.
Reacting to claims suggesting a drift towards a one-party system, Aduda dismissed such reports, insisting that their decision is based on conviction and a genuine desire to better serve the people.
Also speaking, Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in the FCT, Hon. Danladi Chiya, described Aduda as a leader who consistently adds value. He noted that the coming together of council chairmen under a single political platform signals a new phase of cooperation and strengthened governance across the territory.
Chairman of Kuje Area Council, Hon. Abdullahi Sabo, praised Aduda’s leadership capacity, stating that calls for his return to higher office reflect the collective will of the people. He assured that stakeholders would work together in unity to deliver democratic dividends to residents.
Similarly, the Executive Chairman of Bwari Area Council, Hon. John Gabaya, confirmed his return to the APC, emphasizing that political alignment is necessary to reposition the FCT for greater development. He described Aduda as a visionary leader and expressed confidence in his continued rise and impact.
Gabaya also urged residents to support the efforts of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, in advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The development follows the official defection of two FCT Area Council Chairmen to the APC, marking a significant moment of political consolidation and renewed collaboration within the Federal Capital Territory.
