Respected cleric and fiery preacher, Prophet Dr. Isa El-Buba, has raised a passionate call to the Nigerian Church, expressing deep concern over the silence of Christian leaders amid rising persecution and killings across the country.
In a strongly worded message, Prophet El-Buba declared that Nigeria is bleeding, and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) — once a moral force — has become more of a diplomatic body than a prophetic voice.
“When evil thrives and the righteous stay silent, that silence becomes complicity,” he wrote.
According to him, for decades, Christians have been killed across the North — in Zangon-Kataf, Jos, Benue, and Southern Kaduna, yet CAN’s response has been reduced to “polished press statements instead of bold confrontation.”
El-Buba lamented that “the Church is weeping while CAN is whispering,” insisting that the association has traded its prophetic mandate for political relevance.
“The shepherd’s role is to defend the flock, not dine with the wolves,” he stated firmly.
The prophet referenced the 2023 Plateau massacre, where over 200 believers were killed, condemning CAN’s muted response as “betrayal, not leadership.”
He emphasized that if CAN cannot stand for truth, others must rise who will, urging believers to move from “consolation to confrontation, and from sympathy to strategy.”
Concluding his message, Prophet Isa El-Buba declared that the age of polite religion is over, calling the Church to reclaim its voice, confront evil, and lead with courage.
“Silence is no longer an option,” he charged.
