Hon. Nuhu Daniel’s administration showcases infrastructure projects, agricultural support and empowerment programmes across Kwali Area Council

The Executive Chairman of Kwali Area Council, Hon. Nuhu Daniel, today marked his first 100 days in office with a review of projects, programmes and interventions aimed at improving infrastructure, supporting residents and strengthening development across communities in the Area Council.

The 100-day milestone provided an opportunity to highlight some of the administration’s completed and ongoing interventions in road construction, healthcare, education, water supply, electricity, agriculture and youth and women empowerment.

Rather than being measured only by the number of days spent in office, the celebration was presented around the projects initiated, communities reached and support provided to residents.

Among the projects and programmes highlighted are:

Road Infrastructure

  • Construction and rehabilitation of Bako Road
  • Dabi–Bako Road rehabilitation
  • Piri–Gumbo Road construction
  • Angwan Sumai Road construction
  • Construction of Kwali Stadium Road
  • Development of Dongo Bye-Pass
  • Other road and drainage interventions across communities

Healthcare

  • Lambata Health Centre
  • Pache Health Centre
  • Health-centre intervention in Kilankwa
  • Construction and rehabilitation of health facilities in rural communities.

Education

Education is another major component of the administration’s first 100 days.

The highlighted interventions include:

  • Rebuilding of Wako Primary School
  • Distribution of thousands of educational materials
  • Support for educational and STEM-related initiatives
  • Development and rehabilitation of school infrastructure

Water and Electricity Projects

The administration has also highlighted interventions designed to improve access to basic amenities in rural communities.

These include:

  • Installation of solar-powered boreholes
  • Provision of new water facilities in communities
  • Procurement of transformers for rural electrification
  • Installation of solar street lights across the council’s political wards
  • Additional solar-powered infrastructure for communities

Empowerment: Supporting Residents and Local Livelihoods

Beyond physical infrastructure, the administration’s 100-day activities also include empowerment initiatives targeted at residents, women, farmers and other beneficiaries.

Among the items highlighted under the empowerment programme are:

  • Cars presented as empowerment support
  • Motorcycles
  • Grinding machines for women
  • Agricultural chemicals
  • Other agricultural inputs and support materials

The provision of grinding machines is particularly aimed at supporting women with equipment that can contribute to small-scale businesses and household income generation.

The motorcycles and other empowerment items are also intended to support beneficiaries in their economic activities, while agricultural chemicals and related inputs are geared towards assisting farmers and improving productivity.

The interventions highlighted include the provision of agricultural chemicals and other farm inputs, alongside support intended to strengthen farming activities and improve productivity.

The approach places agriculture alongside infrastructure and social development as an important component of efforts to improve livelihoods across Kwali Area Council.

The 100 Days in Office celebration brought together traditional rulers, political leaders, stakeholders, community leaders and residents of Kwali Area Council.

The occasion was honoured by the presence of His Royal Highness, Luka Ayedoo Nizassan III, Etsu Kwali, alongside Senator Philip Aduda MFR, CON, Hon. Danladi Chiya, other political leaders, traditional rulers, stakeholders and well-wishers.

It was an opportunity to showcase the administration’s activities during its first 100 days and outline its continuing development priorities.

From roads and healthcare to education, electricity, water, agriculture and empowerment, the projects highlighted by the administration cut across several areas of community development.

100 DAYS OF DEDICATION.
100 DAYS OF LEADERSHIP.
100 DAYS OF PROGRESS.
