JUST IN: AIT Shuts Down Lagos Office Over Financial Crisis

The Lagos operations of Africa Independent Television (AIT), one of Nigeria’s leading private broadcast stations, have been officially shut down due to severe financial and operational challenges, Radio Reporter NG has confirmed.

According to credible insider reports, the management of Daar Communications Plc, owners of AIT, RayPower FM, and Faaji FM, ordered the shutdown after it became impossible to maintain equipment and meet staff obligations in the Lagos office.

Sources revealed that the decision followed mounting maintenance costs and irregular staff payments, making continued operation unsustainable.

While AIT Lagos has ceased operations, RayPower FM and Faaji FM, which are also owned by Daar Communications, are still broadcasting and maintaining limited activities in the region.

The development marks a major setback for AIT, which has long operated one of the most vibrant television bureaus in Lagos — serving as a crucial hub for national and international news production.

As of press time, Daar Communications Plc has not released any official statement regarding the shutdown.
