Ireland Opens Fully Funded Master’s Scholarship Applications for Nigerians

Applications for the 2026 Ireland Fellows Programme Begin June 29

The Embassy of Ireland in Nigeria has announced the opening of applications for the 2026 Ireland Fellows Programme, offering qualified Nigerians the opportunity to pursue a fully funded one-year Master’s degree.

According to the embassy, applications for the prestigious scholarship programme will officially open on Monday, June 29, 2026, and close on Sunday, July 26, 2026.

The Ireland Fellows Programme is designed for early and mid-career professionals from Nigeria and Ghana who wish to further their education and contribute to the development of their countries upon completion of their studies.

Eligibility Criteria

Interested applicants must:

  • Be a resident national of Nigeria or Ghana;
  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower (2:2);
  • Have at least three years of relevant work experience.

Special Opportunity for Nigerians

Nigerian applicants also have the opportunity to apply for the Roger Casement Fellowship in Human Rights, which supports Master’s degree programmes in:

  • Law
  • Human Rights
  • Governance

Scholarship Benefits

Successful applicants will receive a fully funded scholarship package covering:

  • Full tuition fees
  • Monthly stipend
  • Accommodation allowance
  • Return flight tickets
  • Visa expenses
  • Health insurance
