Kwali First Lady Organises Maiden STEM Project to Inspire Young Innovators

Mrs. Abigail Nuhu Kwali leads STEM initiative to promote creativity, innovation and critical thinking among students in Kwali Area Council

KWALI, FCT — The Office of the First Lady of Kwali Area Council, Mrs. Abigail Nuhu Kwali, has successfully organised the maiden edition of the Kwali STEM Project, an initiative designed to nurture creativity, promote innovation, invest in knowledge and inspire the next generation of great minds.

The programme, which marked a new chapter in youth development and educational engagement within Kwali Area Council, brought together distinguished traditional rulers, government officials, education stakeholders, community leaders, youth representatives and principals of participating schools.

Among the distinguished guests at the event were the Estu Kwali, HRH Estu Luka Ayedoo Nizzassan III; Executive Chairman of Kwali Area Council, Hon. Nuhu Daniel; L.E.A Secretary, Mr. Peter Leda; Dr. Aliyu Bakka Kwali; the Director-General of SHESTCO; Mrs. Balkisu Sani, M&E Tech, L.E.A Kwali; representatives of the FCT Youth Network; Area Council First Ladies; and principals of participating schools.

The participating students were given an opportunity to demonstrate their intellectual abilities and creative potential through various STEM-related activities and engaging debates.

The activities encouraged critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving and confidence among the students, highlighting the importance of science, technology, engineering and mathematics in preparing young people for the opportunities and challenges of the future.

Speaking at the event, Mrs. Abigail Nuhu Kwali, First Lady of Kwali Area Council, explained the vision behind the initiative and the inspiration that led her office to establish the STEM Project.

She encouraged the participating students to embrace the opportunity, discover and develop their talents, think creatively and use their knowledge and skills to make meaningful contributions to society.

Mrs. Abigail Nuhu Kwali further emphasised the importance of investing in young people, noting that empowering students with knowledge, creativity and innovative thinking is essential to building a stronger future for Kwali Area Council.

In a move to extend the impact of the initiative beyond the classroom, the First Lady also announced plans by her office to launch a tree-planting campaign in partnership with SHESTCO.

The proposed campaign is aimed at supporting environmental sustainability, encouraging environmental awareness among young people and contributing to efforts to address the challenges of climate change.

The successful maiden edition of the Kwali STEM Project underscores the commitment of the Office of the First Lady of Kwali Area Council to youth empowerment, education and community development.

The initiative goes beyond a conventional educational programme, representing a strategic investment in young minds, creativity, innovation and the future of Kwali Area Council.
