Move Aims to Strengthen Cross-Border Education Standards and Improve Recognition of Academic Qualifications Between Nigeria and Niger Republic
Niger Republic has officially submitted a verified list of its accredited universities to Nigerian authorities as part of efforts to strengthen academic cooperation and improve cross-border recognition of qualifications.
The list, which also outlines the language of instruction used in each institution, was compiled and validated by the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education and Research. The agency serves as Niger’s sole regulatory body responsible for accreditation, evaluation, and quality assurance in tertiary education.
According to officials, the submission is expected to enhance transparency and support Nigerian students seeking admission into institutions in Niger Republic, as well as ensure that only approved and properly regulated universities are recognized.
Education stakeholders say the development could further deepen educational ties between both countries and help streamline the verification of academic credentials for students and professionals across the region.
Authorities are expected to review the submitted list as part of ongoing bilateral engagements on education standards and regional academic integration.
